Stay Sweet on Valentine’s Day at The Seagate

Love is in the air and on the menu at the Atlantic Grille this Valentine’s Day! Chef Adam Gottlieb has thoughtfully created a selection of specials fit for passion and meant to spark romance with every bite. Although aphrodisiacs haven’t been scientifically proven, there are foods that have been around for centuries that are thought to increase sexual desire and prowess. Some foods have stimulating properties, others are psychologically suggestive, and some can actually increase hormone levels and energy. You may have already heard about chocolate and oysters, but did you know that asparagus and garlic are also considered aphrodisiacs?

This year, Chef Gottlieb is including two or more “love potion” ingredients in each dish, which are written in bold in the descriptions. On Friday, February 14, the appetizer options will be porcini risotto with black truffle, mascarpone, arugula, and shaved parmesan ($15); or the crab & fennel salad with shaved beets, avocado, and blood oranges ($16). For the entrées, choose the open-faced lobster ravioli with artichoke, tomato, asparagus, and tarragon ($38); or the espresso-rubbed ribeye with roasted carrots and garlic-mashed potatoes in a port-wine sauce ($44).
