Delray Beach is an exciting place to be as the town celebrates the season in the most fun and festive ways. From enormous Christmas trees to city-sweeping parades and boats lavished with lights, Delray Beach makes the season spectacular.
The community rallies and revels in this annual Tree Lighting tradition. This year, the famous 100-foot Christmas Tree on the front lawn of Old School Square was lit on Thursday, December 2nd and everyone came out to experience this seasonal highlight. Topped by an 18-foot lighted star, the gigantic Christmas Tree shines with 15,500 LED lights through the beginning of the new year. Visitors are invited to gather around the tree and enjoy outdoor ice skating, ride the holiday carousel, listen to festive music, taste delicious food, go inside the 100-foot Christmas Tree to see animated elf scenes and much more.
The season continues to sparkle with the Boat Parade on Friday, December 10th. Boats are decorated to dazzle and delight as they leave from the Boynton Beach Inlet at 6:30pm and travel down the Intracoastal Waterway to Delray Beach’s C-15 Canal. It’s a winter wonderland on the water that you won’t want to miss!
Let the kids have some holiday fun at Kids Day at Tree on Saturday, December 11th. From 10am to 4pm, children are invited to play in the snow, visit with Santa, get creative with cool arts & crafts and so much more. Kids can go ice skating, ride the holiday carousel, discover a new furry friend at the adopt-a-pet area, and participate in the annual Jingle Bell Run. All for kids and all for free!
Also on Saturday, December 11th, line up along the Avenue for the Holiday Parade on Downtown Atlantic Avenue. The highly-anticipated annual parade begins at 6pm and travels west from Venetian Drive to NW/SW 5th Avenue. The city’s holiday spirit sweeps the streets as everyone gathers together to enjoy the spectacle.
As you can see, the holidays are here and we hope to see you there as Delray celebrates the season in style.
